On December 1, 2025, Consul General Xu Wei met with Mehdi Nobani, Mayor of Bandar Abbas, and Abdolreza Heydari, Chairman of Islamic City Council of Bandar Abbas.

Consul General Xu introduced that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has formulated systematic plans and strategic arrangements for China’s economic and social development over the next five years. China’s high-quality development will bring greater opportunities to Iran and other countries around the world. The Global Governance Initiative is another important public good that China has contributed to the international community, and it has received high praise and active support from many countries, including Iran. Next year marks both the inaugural year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iran. China stands ready to further deepen friendly cooperation with Iranian provinces and cities, including Bandar Abbas, enhance exchanges on governance experience, strengthen friendship, and pursue common development.

The Iranian side expressed that Bandar Abbas is willing to enhance communication and exchanges with China, draw on China’s advanced development experience, and elevate subnational cooperation between the two countries to a higher level.
