On January 5, 2026, Consul General Xu Wei met with the Director General of the Persian Gulf Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting(IRIB) Mohsen Raisi, to exchange views on deepening media cooperation between the two countries.

Consul General Xu introduced to Raisi the major achievements of China’s economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, as well as the significance of the 15th Five-Year Plan for the development of China and countries around the world. He noted that last September, President Xi Jinping’s successful meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian provided strategic guidance for deepening China-Iran relations. And President Xi’s Global Governance Initiative has received strong support from the Iranian side. China is willing to continue strengthening media cooperation with Iran and promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Raisi spoke highly of China’s development achievements and expressed willingness to work with China to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
